A New Home for IPDI

November 12, 2010

Malingap was the new buzzword for the Integrated Pastoral Development Initiative as each of its Project Officers grabs hold of personal and office documents and equipment and helped in the “Lipatan (transfer)” last November 12, 2010. IPDI left its old office in Mayumi Street and moved to a newly built office in Malingap Street.

IPDI Mayumi and IPDI Malingap - Taking advantage of the new office’s two adjoined spaces, IPDI personnel fondly designated each space the name IPDI Mayumi and IPDI Malingap. IPDI Mayumi, named to pay homage to the original location, houses the office proper while IPDI Malingap, accommodates the conference and dining area as well as two bedrooms for in house guests. The word Mayumi is a Tagalog term meaning modest, while Malingap means caring.

Bp. Rolando Tirona blesses new IPDI home - Roughly a month after the office transfer, Bishop Rolando Tironda, DD, bishop of the Prelature of Infanta celebrated mass and blessed the new home of IPDI.

In his message, the Bishop said that this symbolizes a new but continued work of IPDI towards aiding and guiding the marginalized into their struggle towards development.

IPDI’s Chairperson of the Board Maria Lourdes Cipriano also joined the occasion and shared this simple but symbolic celebration with Manila-based project partners such as the Salvatorian Pastoral Care for Children (SPCC), Christians for Social Reform (CSR), Freedom from Debt Coalition (FDC), Kasarian-Kalayaan (SARILAYA), Children’s Legal Rights and Development Center (CLRDC), Task Force Detainees of the Philippines (TFDP) and the UST Office of Community Development.

The new complete address of IPDI is # 49 2/f Malingap corner Mahiyain Streets, Teachers’ Village East, Diliman, Quezon City.
